6Degree, one of India’s first fashion talent and tech startup that provides
opportunities for fashion professionals to showcase their talent across the
globe joins hands with the Lakme Fashion Week, 2016 as
its Talent Partner for the 6Degree Show. 6Degree will
introduce three new and talented designers named Lalit Dalmia, Saroj
Jalan, and 'I AM Design’ by Pratik & Priyanka who
will showcase their creations at the LFW 2016.
In the words of Nikhil
Hegde, Co-Founder & CEO, 6Degree, “6Degree has been a talent
partner to fashion weeks across India and South Asia, enabling emerging
designers to be able to showcase their skills to the world. Over the last 6
months, we have partnered with fashion weeks of all sizes such as Mysore
Fashion Week, India Runway Week, India Beach Fashion Week and even Fiji Fashion
Week in the Fiji Islands. With this association with LFW, 2016, we have
progressed to one of the most evolved and prestigious platforms of the
country. I genuinely feel that there are a lot of
synergies that could be drawn at dedicated platforms such as LFW and
we are working towards creating modules that can act as a catalyst for
multiple fashion ecosystems.”
6Degree
is conceived and created with a vision to provide talent in the fashion
industry with a platform to showcase their creativity and to provide networking

AM Design’ by Pratik & Priyanka
Label
'I AM Design', is the story of Pratik & Priyanka Jain’s passion, vision and inspiration. Equipped
with an MBA degree, life as a financial analyst seemed set for Pratik till he
decided to follow his heart. He quit his job, joined NIFT Delhi, sharpened his
designing skills and realised his long harboured dream of making clothes his
veritable canvas!

their LFW Collection
I AM DESIGN’S new collection ‘INDIAN me FUSION’ takes inspiration from the traditional Indian weaves & motifs, recreating them in a non conformist way and thus fashioning a renewed interest for the conventional Indian motifs and designs.
The wearer
is the contemporary individual who fits perfectly into the two worlds- the
modern and the traditional. A stunning mix of keenly conceived colours and
subtle embroidery; they mesh and blend with the silhouettes, cuts and fabrics
to create a certain sexiness that’s effortless and easy. The designers
strive to transcend and innovate. Their designs become the melting point of
craft and process, creating an illusion of weaves through the distinctive gold & discharge
printing and unique dyeing techniques.
2.) Lalit
Dalmia
The
designer magnifies femininity working with fine materials, delicate
embroideries with outstanding quality. He builds his fairytale creations using
very artistic designs, precious resources, whilst always maintaining a form of
sophistication and class. Mr Lalit Dalmia dazzles with his intricate detail and
strong sense of beauty. His speciality is the ultimate dress that highlights a
woman silhouette. He became known for his glamorous styles, producing a range
of siren dresses that became his trademark. He often uses innovative materials
such as thread mesh or even cutting edge techniques like neo-couture and
precise lazer technology to fuse leather and fabrics.

In this collection he
manuvours a mind blowing revival of McQUEEN ERA fused with his magnificent
sense of GOTHIC CULT. He fuses a variety of emotions like eroticism and lust
with the help of his intriguing colourpalette which includes blue,wine,peach
and fuchsia.
Being
inspired by McQUEEN, Mr Lalit Dalmia reincarnates silhouettes similar to that
of his source inspiration. He creates this collection keeping in mind the asian
trends and tastes. He has tried to add various negative emotions like
aggression,addiction,fury and evil intentions, with the help of precision and
cutting edge technology. This will be a huge leap by him into the fashion and
glamour industry. He wants to refrain the mindsets of people , who
traditionally think that goth is all about black and dark. So this colourpalette
runs wild to take a whole new turn into the mainstream society.
3.) Saroj
Jalan
Label SAROJJALAN,focuses on exuberant couture collection for contemporary women, keeping intact the cultural heritage for a royal look. The comfort, quality and grace of the collection, for the client, are of prime importance
Jalan's
ethnic patterns and royal designs take us close to our cultural roots and
reminds us of the glorious and majestic past.
Started
in 2004, Saroj Jalan, showcases some of the best wedding attires seeped in
Indian tradition with a modern blend. Keeping in mind the feel and need of the

About
their LFW Collection
A
couture fabricated through the concept of Bengal under British Rule.
Inspiration taken from the Victorian architecture, hand pull rickshaws, Khadi
weavers, Princep Ghat, Kantha stiches and tribal pata-chitra and many other
essence of Kolkata at that period of time.
The
flow of the garments also depicts the unity of rebellious citizens, yet
rejoicing the art of that era. Colours glorifying the spirit of joy from the
city. The amalgamation of such weaves and zardousi amplifying the essence of
the collection.
